The Reigning Champ of ASP.NET Hosting – DiscountASP.NET

About Us

angryCoder.com was the first eZine written completely using Microsoft's .NET Framework. The origin of the angryCoder name comes from a nickname that was given to me by my co-workers eons ago. I would (and still do) get fed up with something that is not being done right (at least in my opinion), and launch into a lengthy diatribe about my thoughts on the subject. For good or for bad, that's the kind of guy I am.

I built the original angryCoder.com site because I needed a project idea to get me involved with ASP.NET, and the .NET Framework in general back when it was still pre-beta. A site where I could openly vent my (often controversial) opinions seemed like the logical avenue to take. I felt it would enable other "vocal" developers to get involved as well.

Life is constantly changing and so mine did. When I started the site, I was an independent contractor with plenty of extra time on my hands. I now run my own consulting company, ASPSOFT, and have two kids. These two things dominate my schedule, so angryCoder laid fairly dormant for over two years.

But now we're back, and better than ever! As you can see, the site has gotten a nice face lift, but we've kept the new logo true to the spirit of the original design. There is some new functionality here too. You can create your own profile with a friendly URL (eg. http://angrycoder.com/jonathangoodyear) and publish your own articles without editorial intervention. You can also subscribe to the comment threads of existing articles and add links to them to your profile as favorites. Plus, pretty much everything on the site has an RSS feed and comment and profile photos are powered by email2face.

We've still got a lot of plans in the works to make the new angryCoder.com even more community driven, but if we don't launch the site now, we probably never will. I encourage you to check out what we've done and definitely give me a shout and let me know how we're doing. I'm looking forward to more of that famous angryCoder fan mail (I use the term "fan" loosely).

Onward and upward!,

Jonathan Goodyear
